as an HIV health educator my agency and I are trying to cater to groups who listen to or relate to hip hop music in general. While saying "hip hop" is very general, it particualry means to those who enjoy going to clubs spinning hip hop and r&b, or hip hop and reggae, or any other combination with hip hop. the reason to focus on such a target is impart due to our agency primarily targeting asian men who frequent clubs that typically play dance music and working on interventions for them. I personally see the divergence of these two interest groups and both holding different cultural norms. Allow me to cut to the chase...

i was hoping some of you all could help me (yes to theorize the idea), but to help me process these questions: could hip hop music and HIV intervention work for Asian Pacific Islander gay men who listen to this kind of music? Do Asian and Pacific Islander gay men relate to mainstream hip hopy lyrics promoting various different sexual connotations?
